Recently,I was asked to sign a birthday card for one of my colleagues.. After inserting the customary wishes and signing off,I was about to hand it over to the next well-wisher when I noticed another person's message.. something on the lines of-"may you live beyond birthdays!!". Made me stop and think..was this possible?Didn't it sound ridiculous?

Then I realized that people can and do live on,in a sense,long after their birthdays are up.. My grandfather passed away recently, and i know that his memory will be with me forever.. This is true of almost all people.. But there are some who live on for centuries after they're gone.. people like Alexander,Caesar,Christ,Galileo,Newton,Gandhi etc.. People whose ideas and actions changed human history and thought profoundly.. I would say that,tall order though that is, that is the way to truly live beyond your birthdays...
